B What is the one key idea of this chapter. pay attention to the title of the chapter!

The key idea of chapter four is Called to be Compassionate. The word compassionate is deffinied by the New American Dictionary as being “Feeling or showing compassion; sympathetic.” God calls us to to be compassionate to others just as Jesus was to the lower members of society. As we learned form the last chapter to be like Jesus and showing compassion for others is a perfect way to . An example of Jesus showing his love and compassion for the weak would be when Jesus heals the 2 blind men just before he arrived in Jerusalem (Matthew ch20 v29-34). It even states in the Jesus showed pity for the men and that’s why he healed them. SO we as the people of the Christian faith should do all we can for those who we pity.

Write about two major ideas you want to remember. Write a short paragraph on each clearly stating the idea and then telling why you want to remember it.

One major idea from the chapter over coming the obstacles of becoming a disciple. Every person that has ever belived Jesus is the savior has always meet conflict where it was a conflict within or conflict from other people. Even Jesus’ closest followers meet a lot of conflict but their faith held strong and prevailed in the end. It should be natural to address the conflict within us, but as long as we can accept the obstacle for what it is and continue to follow Jesus we will be saved by him

Another idea the we could take from this chapter is that is not to be distracted by are society to keep focused on what Jesus wants of us. At times we are blinded by what is good by the current socitys standerds

One image that captures the chapter for you.

One significant question you have from this chapter. It can be intellectual or personal.

One question I would have about this chapter is, I how the first dispiles deal with the obstacles and distactions the had to face in there socity and how can we use there example to stay firm in our bielfs today. I have thought that if it was difficult for them it most be even harder for us because we live in a society that is backed by sex, alcohol, and good time no matter what. 1
