I am 69 years old, smoked for 50+ years. Quit Dec.31, 2002. Received diagnosis of COPD March 29, 2003. Now what was wrong with that picture? I thought dx came before quitting, goes to show how much I knew about COPD and the big E. I came home from doctor’s office and sat down at the computer, opened Google and typed in COPD. Well the Support List was the first one that I went to. I have been here ever since. At first my children did not want me on a support list, they were afraid that it would drag me down. Now they realize how wrong they were.

I was married for 30 years and 10 months when my husband passed away, that was in 1986. In 1990 I started dating my best friend’s brother and the rest is history as they say. Rams and I have been together since 1992. My children are a girl 48 years old, who has a girl 25. They live in Cincinnati. My son is 46 and lives in Malvern, his son is 26 and lives in the upstairs apartment here. Ramsey and I have 2 Jack Russell Terrors, yes I spelled that right. He has one and I have one, his is Jake and mine is Rocky, Jake is Rocky’s father and if they are left in the same room one of them would kill the other. So we live in a divided house in the Winter. Spring, summer and fall the dogs are outside most all day.

I love to travel but with retirement came a decrease in income and limited travel now. I was fortunate enough to get to go to France, Ramsey was stationed there, and a group of us went back to the old base.

BC (before computers) I read constantly but now occasionally.

I am fortunate that at this writing I am not on o2. I am on Sprivia and agree with many that it is a miracle drug. I have not used the nebulizer since starting it.

I am a moderator on the List. I volunteered as a way to repay all the good I have gotten from this group.

I also belong to the Buckeye Friends, a group of Ladies from Ohio that are on the Support List, and one from Ky.
