Australian TOUR

  December 26 to January 11, 2006

Australia is vast, almost double the size of Europe. Although it is justly renowned for it's natural
beauties, it's varied cities offered their fair share of art, architecture and historical interest.  Australia's
biggest attraction is its natural beauty. The landscape varies from  endless dense tropical rainforest to
southern chilly  beaches. Scattered along the coast, its cities blend a European enthusiasm  for art and
food with laid-back love for sports and the outdoors

We visited some places in New South Wales with more visits in Sydney. Sydney is Australia's oldest city,
the economic powerhouse of the nation and the country's capital in everything but  name.  It's blessed
with sun-drenched natural attraction, dizzy skycrapers, delicious and daring restaurants,
     superb shopping and friendly folks.

Although it has come a long way from its convict beginnings, it still has a rough and ready energy
and  offers an invigorating blend of the old and the new, the raw and the refined. Sydney Harbour,
dramatic cliffs and stunning beaches define the city. But whichever way, from the white sails
of the harbour, the arc of The Coathanger to the toned flesh of Bondi, Sydney isin Singapore,

We had a lovely evening hosted by our friends from Dhaka in Star city hotel.  We spent the new year's eve all
together watching the spectacular fireworks of the Harbour bridge, just beautiful!!!  The new year
started with a smile of contentment in everyone's face.

From Sydney, we drove to Gold coast, the distance is around a thousand kms.  We decided to do it in 2 days
and experience rather the coastal touring of the pacific coast. We passed lots of ports and waterways,
beautiful beaches, wilderness overlooking verdant farmlands, unspoiled coastline which cradles to some surfing
beaches.  Lush picturesque countryside and green valley.  It does offer a pristine surroundings. We took a
night off in Port Mcquarie. The next day, we are back on the road towards goldcoast, stopping in every beautiful
scenery we spotted.  It was a lively ride along the countryside.
The drive was  shorter than anticipated, in three hours, we reached the Gold coast

We joined Anna and Waldo's family and the boys are so happy to be together. We had five days of fun

kids had adventure in wet and wild parks with Steph while me, Waldo and Anna went around together. We

had everyone for dinner, babbling each other's adventure. Just enjoying the foods and drinks was relaxing.

The day came for Basilia's family to go back to Singapore, we do missed them in our last days in Goldcoast.

We keep up with our tour after a day break, we went around the city, visited the marina,

watched the tennis players in person during the Queensland Women's Hardcourt tournament.  We had
the chance to see Martina Hingis, Golovin, Patty, we were all  delighted to watch them.   We visited the
famous Australian Zoo in Brisbane, watched the crocodile show of Monti in person and see more of the Zoo
More little things we did that make us happy is browsing the malls (wink)!!  Then we flew to
Melbourne and spent a week, we explored the ocean road, visited wool museum and city of Ballarat
We left Melbourne satisfied with the holiday and cherish the memories of days spent in that beautiful place.

We arrived in Singapore early morning and we took a great time sleeping to recover from
the jetlag, not much hours difference yet we linger on. We keep up with our visits
in Singapore, this is our third time but we don't seem to have enough of the tiny little country yet so
many big things in it. Just follow us  through in our photos and share with us the fun of our holiday.
