Everyone knows who the hell Slapshot is and that Choke is the singer. At least I think so. If you don't, check out Dave's Slapshot page. Well, few know almost nothing about Choke's first band. That band was Negative FX. Although they only played five shows, Negative FX put their mark on Boston hardcore. Their show with Mission of Burma may be their most remembered show. Only seconds into their first song, the soundman pulled the plug and a big riot ensued.

Hopefully, that is not the only thing Negative FX was remembered for. They played intense, in your face hardcore. I think I listen to their album, their only release, just about every day. This shit is timeless. Their self-titled LP was Taang's first album. It has been re-released on cd, so go out and get the damn thing. You can't miss the damn thing. It has a nice picture of Charlie Manson on the cover. Hey, you can even check out Choke's second band Last Rites, it's included on the cd. Judge for yourself.
