I am proud to have served in the U.S. Navy
from 1974 through 1980.

The aircraft carriers USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), USS Constellation (CV 64), and USS Nimitz (CVN 68) berthed at the Naval Air Station, North Island carrier pier in San Diego Bay. The flight deck on each carrier is around 4½ acres.

I cruised the Mediterranean on the Nimitz during 1977 and 1978, and the Western Pacific on the Kitty Hawk in 1979 and 1980.

I did shop maintenance on the control and display boxes for the ALQ-99 ECM system.

USS Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned warship afloat, underway in Massachusetts Bay, Mass. Commissioned on October 21, 1797, Constitution set sail unassisted for the first time in 116 years. She celebrated her 200th birthday on Oct. 21, 1999 after completing a 40-month overhaul.
