STORY
Rob Trujillo was born on October 23, 1964 in Santa Monica, California. He lived in that area throughout his young life while listening to bands like Led Zeppelin and taking inspiration from Motown and funk music. He was also an avid surfer. He has been through several bands, including Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, and Ozzy Osbourne's band. He joined Metallica on February 24, 2003, replacing bassist Jason Newsted. Everybody in the Metallica camp agrees that the band now sounds more whole and complete than it ever has. Fans everywhere look forward to getting to know and to listening to Rob's tenacious bass-playing.
Rob plays Tobias, Music Man, and Fernandez basses hooked up to Ampeg SVT III amps. He plays Dean Markeley strings.
