COMPANY B 2nd BATTALION (ASSAULT) 224th AVIATION FORWARD at FT POLK, LOUISIANA |
12 June 2001
Well, the Bravo Beasts (with our Delta Dog contingent) have made it to FT Polk (finally)! We have been busy at Keesler AFB, MS conducting training classes on a variety of subjects, to include how to drive while in Bosnia, how to deal with the local Bosnian populace without becoming a top story on CNN’s Headline News, and Door Gunnery tactics, techniques, & procedures.
The Crew Chiefs have also been conducting maintenance on our aircraft to keep them flying. Our Operational Readiness (OR) rate continues to be 100%! This is an excellent testament to the high standards that our Crew Chiefs and the D Co personnel continue to maintain!
Since the MRE has been ongoing since this past Friday, we have hit the ground running. Immediately upon our arrival here we received the Rules of Engagement (ROE) briefing, our Airspace briefing, and our "right seat rides". Right seat rides are conducted by pilots familiar with our flight area to orient us to the characteristics of our mission profile. We will also receive right seat rides from the A Co Redhawks (82nd Airborne Division) when we arrive in Bosnia. We expect to be fully mission ready by tomorrow morning.
To SGT Dennis from the "operational" Crew Chiefs: Stay on the 1st floor! Seriously, all of the Beasts hope that you are feeling better, and EVERYBODY is looking forward to seeing you upon our return to Richmond. (Expect to catch a lot of......!)
Sincerely,
NEAL J. EDMONDS |
