W A K I N G  T H E  D E A D

Synopsis:  This romantic thriller stars Billy Crudup and Jennifer Connelly as a couple whose love overcomes their political differences, the passage of time, and possibly even death. Directed by Keith Gordon, the story is set in 1974.  It begins as Fielding Pierce (Billy) views a television news report about the death of  three American activists in Chile, one of whom is his girlfriend, Sarah (Jennifer Connelly).

Much of the story is shown in flashback, as Fielding recalls when they first met;  the intimate details of their relationship; and his conservative political aspirations and her liberal activism, differences which they worked to overcome because of their love and the ways in which they each tried to improve the world.

It flashes forward 10 years as Fielding runs for Congress.  He has never forgotten Sarah, and is haunted by her...but is she a ghostly vision, a hallucination, or is she, somehow, still alive?
