Coloma relieves whole Bobon police force

In an attempt to defuse the tensions growing over the recent surrender of police personnel following a warrant of arrest for the killing of former provincial jail warden Rene Carpina, PNP Regional Director Dionisio Coloma ordered the relief of the entire police force of Bobon, Northern Samar.

Coloma said his decision was intended to ensure the neutrality of the plice forces amidst the rising political drama unfolding in Bobon, where several police personnel linked to the mayor has been detained, along with Mayor Elena Balite herself, at the Bobon Municipal Jail on the strength of the warrant of arrest issued against them by Judge alma Consuelo Isidera of Bobon Municipal Trial Court.

According to him, the regional command will be sending troops to the area, although he did not specify the exact number of new personnel to be drawn from the 145 new recruits if the Philipine National Police.

Coloma also recently paid a courtesy call on the mayor in jail, asking for her cooperation with the legal process.
