HISTORY In March 1946, Rev Grima, founded a local branch of Azzjoni Kattolika in St Paul's Bay. The Committee in charge of the Centre, on its second sitting, decided to change the status of the Centre to one of a social club. Afterwards the Committee and members of this Social Club, including Rev Grima, discussed the idea of setting up a band club and their wish materialised when on 21 st March 1947 the St Paul's Band Club was registered with the Commissioner of Police. The principal aim behind the founding of the band club was to promote culture and musicin locality. Thus from a Social Club now St Paul's bay had the Cirkolu Muzikali San Pawl. After an appeal by Rev Grima during mass youths from St Paul's Bay and adjoining localities joined the Band Club and started to learn how to play various types of musical instruments. Whilst the bandisti received free musical education, they had to provide the instruments

To date our Band Club played regularly in St Paul's Bay for the village feast and in other towns and villages around the island. The Band played also on other occasions such as carnival and funnerals of distinct Band Club members. |
