Here are some basic guidelines
and examples of what's required
when submitting photographs or digital images of boxes.
1. It's best to take a separate photo
for each box panel as shown in the examples below. If the box can be collapsed then one shot will usually suffice, as in the Favorita box example. Another approach is to shoot one overall picture as in the Cobana example. |
|
2. The panels should nearly fill the photo frame but should be well within the lens focal range.
3. Photos should be taken in natural sunlight but if the box cannot be relocated flash should be used.
4. Always shoot panels at the same level as the box, don't shoot from above, below or at an angle.
5. Shoot all photos of the same box under identical lighting conditions to control color contrast.
6. Don't be concerned if the camera creates panel edge distortion; the images will be straightened.
7. When submitting digital images don't crop them to hide the distorted edges; show the entire panel.
8. Images should usually be scanned at 100dpi and
cropped to show just the complete panel, this reduces e-mail download time and doesn't necessitate excessive resizing. When shooting a single overall photo (as the Favorita example) scan at 150 or 200dpi for better resolution. |
