The story behind the mysterious object.

When we were at 519, the Fladger family lived right around the corner at 137 Poplar Circle. The Fladgers had three kids. Steve was my age and we played ball either on the playground behind Winnona Park Elementary School or on the front grass directly in front of same. Steve had an older brother, Ben, who in turn, had an older sister, Elaine. I can tell you that Elaine was a looker. I was, even at the ripe old age of seven, madly in love with her. The sun rose and set on her person. Hence the bottle of flowers. It would not surprise me at all if the actual flowers were dandelions, as I do not remember my parents ever planting much of anything in the way of flowers while we were there. I believe that the date on the bottle is May 18th, 1949, at which time I was almost eight years old.

Below is a photo of Ben and Elaine, circa 2004. I remember them quite well.

My friends in Atlanta sent all this to me in the mail.
