There is a reasoning behind the black background. Sure, the song, simply by its title, suggests being "in the dark" about what's going on. Beyond that, there is another reason, which actually connects to the red writing. A little like red lights in a dark room, perhaps? For those of you who know who the inspiration for this song is, you'll know why it is dark if you think about it for just a minute. I'm not being morbid. Really.
