Dreams
"Some people follow their dreams, others hunt them down and beat them mercilessly into submission."
- Neil Kendall
"Dream what you want to dream; go where you want
to go; be what you want to be, because you have only
one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do."
"Dreams come true, only if you wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you are willing to sacrifice everything else for it"
Have faith in your dreams and someday your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is greaving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true." -Cinderella
"Dare to dream, but be prepared to follow those dreams with hard work, dedication, and persistence."- Shannon Miller
Hard Work
"The credit belongs to those who are actually in the arena, who strive valiantly; who know the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spend themselves in a worthy cause; who at the best, know the triumph of high achievement; and who, at the worst, if they fail, fail while daring greatly, so that their place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat."
"Undertake something that is difficult; it will do you good. Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow."
-Ronald Osborn
You never know until you try. And you never try unless you really try. You
give it your best shot; you do the best you can. And if you have done
everything in your power, and still fail-the truth of the matter is that you
haven't failed at all. When you reach for your dreams, no matter what they
may be, you grow from the reaching; you learn from the trying; you win from
the doing.
"Better to strive and climb, and never reach your goal, then to drift along with time-an aimless, worthless soul, Ay, better to climb and fall, or sow, though the yield be small, Than to throw away day after day, and never strive at all." - Grace B. Hinkey
"Some succeed because they are destined to but most succeed because the are determined to"
"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."
-Pre
Destiny
"There are some things in life that you are not meant to be. Don't waste your time and tears trying to be them. Reach for the things you are meant to be, and you will reach your destiny."
-Sarah Normile
“Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn't have it in the beginning.”
~Mahatama Ghandi
"The real contest is always between what you've done and what you're capable of doing. You measure yourself against yourself and nobody else."
-Geoffrey Gaberino
Happiness
"Happiness comes from spiritual wealth, not material wealth... Happiness comes from giving, not getting. If we try hard to bring happiness to others, we cannot stop it from coming to us also. To get joy, we must give it, and to keep joy, we must scatter it."
John Templeton
Memories
"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
Gymnastics
"My body may be here, but my heart is at the gym"
The Gymnast Prayer
Now as I warm up for this meet,
I pray my competition I can beat.
And if I fail amidst the cheers,
I pray I can hold back my tears,
And on emore thing success or not,
I pray the creator of the beam be shot!
Recipe For Gymnastics
Add iron and steel to beauty and grace,
Stir in the will to win with a bright smiling face.
Blend the love for the sport and add friendship within,
Fold in the bumps and bruises on the surface of the skin.
Mix in soft flowing arms and straight pointed toes,
Witht he twist of the head to complete a beautiful pose.
Life is like gymnastics
It teaches the fearful to fall...
and climb.. and fall...
and step.. and fall...
and run.. and fall...
and dance.. and fall...
and leap.. and fall...
and FLY.

obstacles, have strengthened me... You may not realize it
when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best
thing in the world for you.

Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debits are high,
and you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care ill lead you to your destiny. -Unknown
It's not necessarily what you accomplish,
its what you learn while is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twist and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst,
that you must not quit.

A Gymnast's Prayer
Lord, I pray this pray to you
strengthen my legs and my arms too.
Please don't let me slip and fall
help me stand up straight and tall.
Help me as I walk the beam
so I can do well for my team.
As upon the bar I swing
keep me in control of everything.
Help my leg's stretch out in stride
as over the horse I can glide.
And as the floor exercise I do
please help each movement be smooth too.
Thank you lord for your support
I pray I don't come up short.
To help lead my team to victory
is all I really want you see.
A Gymnast
Patience is a man’s greatest virtue,
Or so the saying goes.
A gymnast must have said it,
For a gymnast surely knows.
That in this funny sport of ours
Discouragement runs high;
And at times the very best will find
This virtue’s passed us by.
When hands are ripped and throbbing,
When every muscle’s sore,
Can a gymnast still have patience
To limp in the gym for more?
When you’ve lost old moves you used to do,
And progress seems so slow,
Can you still have faith in better days
And not feel sad and low?
Can you admit you’re frightened
Yet not give into fear?
Can you conquer pain, frustration,
And often even tears?
When someone else does something
You’ve tried so long to do,
Can you really feel glad for them
Or pity, just for you?
And when success seems far away
Your efforts all in vain,
Can you force yourself to wear a smile
And disregard the pain?
If despite the tribulations
You can say, “I won’t give in!”
Maybe some day you’ll discover
That now, it’s your time to win.

Your Life Holds
Unlimited Potential
and Wonderful Dreams
You have the ability
to attain whatever you seek;
within you is every potential
you can imagine.
Always aim higher than
you believe you can reach.
So often, you'll discover
that when your talents
are set free
by your imagination,
you can achieve any goal.
If people offer their
help or wisdom
as you go through life,
accept it gratefully.
You can learn much from those
who have gone before you.
But never be afraid or hesitant
to step off the accepted path
and head off in your own direction
if your heart tells you
that it's the right way for you.
Always believe that you will
ultimately succeed
at whatever you do,
and never forget the value
of persistence, discipline,
and determination.
You are meant to be
whatever you dream
of becoming.
- Edmund O'Neill
Today, Tomorrow, and Yesterday
There are 2 days in every week
that we should not worry about
two days that should be kept free
from fear and apprehension
One is yesterday
with its mistakes and cares,
its faults and blunders
its aches and pains
Yesterday is past forever
beyond our control
all the money in the world
cannot bring back yesterday.
we cannot undo a certain act
or take back a word we've said-
Yesterday is gone!
The other day we shouldn't
worry about is tomorrow-
with its impossible adversaries,
its burdens, its hopeful promises,
and poor performance.
Tomorrow's sun
will either rise in splendor
or behind a mask of clouds,
but it will rise
and until it does,
we have no stake in tomorrow,
for it is yet unknown.
This leaves only one day-
Today
Any person can fight the battle
for just one day
it is only when we add
the burdens of yesterday
and tomorrow that we break down
the sadness comes not from
the experience of today
but the remorse of bitterness
for something which happend
yesterday
and the dread of what
tomorrow may bring.
If one advances
confidently
in the direction of his
dreams
and endeavors to live the life
which he has imagined,
he will meet with a
success
unexpected in common hours.
If you have built castles
in the air,
your work need not be lost;
Now put the foundations
under them.
-Henry David Thoreau
