Orina | ||||||||||||
A New Life | ||||||||||||
Orina was fed, clothed and given a bed to sleep in. She slept for the rest of the day before waking up. It was almost dawn of the next day when Orina rose out of the bed. Her muscle still ached, something she was not used to. She passed a mirror and was very surprised to see bruises all over her face. Looking over the rest of herself, she could see many bruises and cuts, but all of them had been tended to. Orina walked into what was like a kitchen and found the woman who had helped her. "Good morning m'dear. How did you sleep? I thought you were never gonna get up. Oh goodness, sit down please. I making breakfast right now, should be ready soon." "Frina, please, I'm sure our guest doesn't need you rambling right now." A male voice came out. Orina glanced over to see a young man her age with black hair, striking green eyes, and a very handsome face. "And I don't need your attitude Nuramor! Well, maybe you're right. I think we should let our mystery lady do the talking. So tell us about yourself." Orina introduced herself and explained her whole story. She surprized herself when she didn't cry about it while telling the story. Orina simply guessed she was either all cried out, or now the shock was setting in. "Oh my, that is quite an adventure you had. I was wondering why your hair was so short. Most girls around here only cut their hair like that when they start riding dragons." Frina picking up Orina's cleared plate. "What are you going to do now?" Nuramor asked. "I guess, stay here. I don't have a home to go to. My families all gone. I guess I should just try to start a new life. there's a reason that creature brought me here." "Well, I think Nuramor should show you around. If you're up to it deary." "Sounds good to me. If I'm going to live here, I should know the place." "Come on then. We'll go out." Nuramor grabbed her hand and quickly led her out the door. He showed her around to everything. They walked to the beach where firelizards hatched and he showed her the Nekrat Bay where canidates were watching the newly laid eggs for any movement. Then he showed her his dwelling. It was very big and open. The ceiling were quite high and there was a ledge outside. "I've got a treat for you. Come on." Nuramor said with a sly grin on his face. He led Orina outside where she saw a beautiful rain colored dragon. His color ranged from night sky blue to highlights of a dawn sky. It was saddled up and ready to go. "This is my dragon Terunith, and he would be honored if you joined us for a flight. Have you ever ridden before" Orina only shook her head as she scratched Terunith's jaw. He rumbled appreciation to her. "Well, there's a first time for everything. Let's go!" Nuramor helped her up and the three took off into the sky. Orina loved the feeling of the wind wrapping around them. Terunith glided easily through the sky and soon, the landed back at the ledge. "How did you get him? He's wonderful!" Orina said, smiling for the first time all day. "He Chose me at his hatching. You apply to be a canidate and when the eggs hatch, you stand infront of them along with everyone else and the hatchling choose a lifemate. I was lucky and Terunith Chose me. You know, there are some clutches on the Sands, if you interested?" Orina thought about what she said this morning. She was going to start a new life here. It couldn't hurt, and she was sure Nuramor would help her. She then agreed to trying. "Well, alright then. Let's get you to the Sands and sign you up!" |
