Course Description:
The course consists of two main parts. The first part introduces students to basic terms in the filed of mass communication with special emphasis on recent developments in technology and media effect in modern society. The second part deals with the bases and techniques of translating journalistic texts from English to Arabic and vice versa.
Course Objectives:
· To help students appreciate the recent developments and technological breakthroughs in the field of mass communication.
· To enable student to understand the basic terminology in the field of mass communication.
· To provide students with the necessary skills and techniques in translation with special focus on journalistic texts.
· To make students able to translate journalistic texts from English to Arabic and vise versa.
