...here's your chance to act. Paying LIP SERVICE to your beliefs will take us nowhere. We need your help and we need you to act.
It is safe to say that we Libertarians are Libertarians because we truly BELIEVE in our cause. It takes a pioneer's attitude to diverge from the mainstream and be different for good reason. Put your clearly above-average intelligence to ACTION. This is already working, and how LONG it takes will depend on how long you want to wait to see how we, who ARE active, work without you. That is wrong, and you should consider helping us NOW, rather than later.
Few of us were BORN into two-parent Libertarian families. If for nothing else, because we're a relatively young party (since 1971). If you were, you're only no older than 5 years old and not able to read this anyway!
Go to our website, <A HREF="http://www.lp.org/">Libertarian Party: Home Page </A> (www.LP.org) and read up on the REAL, albeit slow, gains we made. Notice how, for all the hype of the Greens, we actually elected more than TWICE as many into office as they did, and at FAR less expense!
Now, for something you can do NOW, check out what I've included below. It is an excerpt written by our local Libertarian Party, here in Chicago. Pass it around, start a discussion, get off your asses and HELP us, my friends. We WANT you...we NEED you, and that's no bull. If you are a TRUE Libertarian, remember that treating Libertarianism like a PRACTICAL approach to SOLVING our nation's problems once and for all, rather than some unattainable abstract ideal, will yield REAL results.
FORWARD this to your friends on the fence...especially those Republicans who are disaffected with their own party because they only TALK about reducing government and are also hindered by the "morality police" in their ranks.
It is time for COMPLETE and UNAPOLOGETIC economic AND personal freedoms. It is time we took BACK our Constitutional Rights. It is time to stop the LEGAL robbery of hard-working Americans. Our current politicians do not truly care about how they waste tax dollars. Of COURSE they don't care! It's not their money! It's easy to make such dcisions when you're managing someone else's money!

If government spending were limited to the amount spent in 1985, you wouldn't need to pay any income tax. None.
Sound unbelievable? It's not. Please allow me to say it again, more completely. The federal income tax accounts for only about one-third of the amount of money the government spends. In 1985, the government spent about one-third of what it does today. Therefore, if government spending were limited to one-third (the amount the government spent only 15 years ago) Americans would not need to pay income tax. None at all.
What can you do about it? Let your legislator know that you want them to vote for H.R.45. And you can do in easily, in a few minutes, on the internet. Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) has introduced House Resolution H.R.45, the bill to repeal the 16th Amendment. H.R.45 would therefore abolish the income tax. You would not need to pay income tax anymore. None at all. From now on. FYI, Ron Paul ran for U.S. president as a Libertarian in 1984.
