This situation should be very revealing. On the one hand we have a clear and admitted case of _at least_ one (maybe/likely more) individual(s) violating Libertarian principle by the commission of fraud against every member of the Libertarian Party. Then on the other hand, we have this very muddy insinuation that there might be "trademark infringement" by the ALP, who had their name long before the LP's current affiliate even existed, and whose dispute with the national LP arose at least in part due to the very fraud that is now known to have existed.

Which of these two cases, if any, will the LNC choose to pursue via lawsuit? If they pursue both cases, which one will they pursue with the most commitment and resources?

If LNC sues ALP and fails to sue Willis & company, or launches only a "token" suit against Willis & company, even I will lose all hope for the national LP.

Frankly, I'd much rather see a private solution than a lawsuit. Clean out everyone on LNC and LP HQ staff who knew or should have known about what was going on. Pass a resolution prohibiting the party from doing business with those individuals, including and especially the use of the party's mailing list, for ten years. Require bonding of all paid party staff with a fidciary responsibility to the party. I'm sure there are other measures I haven't thought of that are also appropriate. Will some guilty people slip through the cracks? Probably. But I guess I just don't have any faith in the courts to give us a solution that's any better, and as usual the lawyers and judges will suck our money down a legal rathole. So I'm really not in favor of a lawsuit against anyone.

BUT if LNC decides to sue ALP and not Willis...the hypocrisy is going to be too much for even me to stomach. Sayo-f-n-nara. :-)
