Ayame goes looking for Kouga and eventually finds him -- carrying Kagome to safety. At first she's just astonished that Kouga is going through such effort to save what to her is essentially protien. And then...Kouga mentions Kagome by name. Ayame quickly becomes Mad as Hell. She screams all sorts of things about her Kouga (oh, sounds like me ^_^), a human woman, and Yorozoku pride; none of which seem to bother Kouga much. What starts to stump Kouga is when Ayame starts recounting the past. Apparently, Kouga saved her from the Gokurakuchou when she was a child. Her grandfather was going to the northern mountains, and there she would have to endure his training. She was scared and felt very alone. She endured the years of her grandfather's training by remembering what Kouga had said. And now she's come to collect on his words.
