The Triple Gem (Three Jewels) is The Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. In Buddhism, a Buddhist should always take refuge in the Triple Gem. It is the path that leads us to Buddhahood.

The Buddha, Dharma and Sangha are known as the Triple Gems because it is being looked upon as being precious and valuable.

Thus, Buddhist take refuge in the Triple Gems in order to gain Wisdom and later on experience True Happiness and Enlightenment.
