Occult Biblical Exegesis

A number of modern metaphysical Independent Catholic jurisdictions laud the use of what is often called "metaphysical bible study", yet they fail to explain why this is necessary. This is a serious failure, which inevitably leads to strong and valid charges of manufacturing red herrings. Below are a few of the Avalonian Catholic Church's preliminary thoughts on this vital matter.

Some Reasons for the Method

Fundamentalist Christians use the books of the Bible to teach practical concepts to their adherents. This is laudable, though it hardly proves the infallibility of these books! One could similarly utilize the sacred books of other religions for the same purpose. (One is reminded here of the relatively recent alteration of the National Spiritualist Association of Churches' Declaration of Principles: "We affirm that the Precepts of Prophecy and Healing contained in all sacred texts are divine attributes proven through Mediumship." Sacred texts was originally the Bible.)

Given the damning admissions of several of the earliest Church Fathers, the Catholic Encyclopedia (See relevant links in our Scriptorium.), the internal inconsistency of the biblical books, the overwhelming evidence of history, including the changing of many passages to suit the whims of the desecrators, and the testimony of those books themselves (such as the Old Testament prophet condemning the forgeries of his time: "For the pens of the scribes worketh for falsehood."), we cannot acclaim these works as infallible.

This does not mean that we believe them totally worthless for edification, however, it does mean that one needs to read with more care.

One defense of a less literal interpretation of many passages is given by Jesus himself: "For the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life." Another is that more wisdom can be gained from a nonliteral reading of certain passages in the Bible, such as those about the delusional, paranoid, murderous Yahweh! Here are some scriptural passages which it seems to us would perilous to read literally:

using potentially dangerous low magic on a woman to see if she has been unfaithful: Numbers 5:17, 27

"God's scat": 2 Kings 18:27

on cannibalism: "And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee." -- Deuteronomy 28:53

on killing disobedient children: "If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son...bring him unto the elders of his city...And all the men of the city shall stone him with stones, that he die; so shalt thou put evil away from among you..." -- Deuteronomy 21:18-21

While a church pompously proclaiming its magisterium fears greatly the possibility of anyone reading and thinking for themselves, we do not fear this. We are seekers of Truth, and are unconcerned about the source of that Truth, only that it be real, verifiable and demonstrable. This, our scientific approach to the spiritual realms, separates our Church from all the exoteric ones which claim to possess the true Keys.

The Forgery of the Bible

Started January 5, 2004

Many people will find this material very disturbing, yet much of it is common knowledge in most seminaries. The would-be-ministers are told some of these things, then cautioned that they must never breathe a word of them to the flocks, i.e., mindless sheep they are to fleece for their own profit.

What we have discovered is that the revelation of these forgeries can actually bring about world unity and peace. We'll be discussing this later, but first we need to add material to this site which proves this vital argument to be true.

The Forgery of the Old Testament Books

The Essenes argued that the majority of people calling themselves Jews weren't Jews. They also stated with great confidence that the books those Jews revered as sacred weren't, and that animal sacrifice was evil. We'll be investigating the details, proofs and implications of these charges here soon.

The Forgery of the Exoteric Canonical Gospels

One of the leading New Testament scholars in the late 19th century found so many problems with the Gospels, he was forced to conclude that the earliest scribes conspired against the Faith! Let's first read a little about him and his work in this area:

'A classic champion of the Textus Receptus, this work is still quoted 116 years later. The Revised Version of 1881 and its departure from the Received Text for that of Westcott & Hort was received with dismay by many and Burgon's response was published as The Revision Revised in 1883. No stronger champion of the Textus Receptus can be found in church history and for that reason he is immediately beloved or disdained in accordance with one's textual predilection. F.F. Bruce writes in History of the Bible in English: "Some scholars did attempt to reply to Burgon -- competently, like Professor William Sanday of Oxford ... and less competently, like Bishop Ellicott, chairman of the Revisers, who was no match for Burgon in Textual Criticism ... The one scholar who could have answered Burgon conclusively -- Dr. Hort, chose to say nothing."

'"The linking of inspiration to preservation, and both to the majority text—got its major impetus from John William Burgon. Burgon, a high Church Anglican, Dean of Chichester, toward the end of the nineteenth century was both prolific and vituperative in his attacks against Westcott and Hort (the Cambridge scholars who produced the Greek text which stands, more or less, behind all modern translations). There is no question that Burgon is the most influential writer on behalf of the TR—indeed, that he is the father of the majority text movement—for he is quoted with extreme approbation by virtually every TR/MT advocate.19 He argued that “there exists no reason for supposing that the Divine Agent, who in the first instance thus gave to mankind the Scriptures of Truth, straightway abdicated His office; took no further care of His work; abandoned those precious writings to their fate.”"

'"As for the vilification of the early MSS, John W. Burgon, then Dean of Chichester (southern England), argued that early scribes conspired against the faith. If they did so, they were singularly incompetent in their task, for they left too many things unchanged. (F. H. Scrivener, considered by many KJV fans to be the greatest textual critic of the nineteenth century [partially because he was sympathetic to much of what Burgon was saying] argued against this conspiracy theory.) In fact, they even changed some texts in a misguided attempt at making them more orthodox! Actually, all scribes did this." D. Wallace

"All scribes did this." (Notice the cirular logic employed here, by the way.) Hmm... The question now naturally arises, "What was the original material with which the scribes were working that was so heretical, and why were they using this material? The answers are incredibly shocking, and undermine most of what is taught by most of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

"In the Beginning..." Part II

The Moslems don't revere Jesus as a blood-atoning savior because they have their own traditions about who he was and what he did, as well as about how the exoteric Church was founded. Read Arabic Traditions on Christian Origins to learn more.

It might well be argued that the Moslems made all this up to villify a faith they could not accept. Indeed, as we shall see, much of what they say about Jesus is inaccurate. In our times, however, explosive events occurred, which brought to light a copy of what must be the original text or one of the original texts upon which the fraudulent scribes based their forgeries, which the Moslem writings state were kept secret.

The Talmud of Jmmanuel

While we plan to post material directly on this site, for now you can read all about this amazing discovery, its implications, and the attempts of the mainstream powers of this world to destroy its message on a retired professor's Website. Just click here for the splash page or here to go right to the material. He also wrote an interesting article, The Little Known Literary Battles Between the Gospel Writers.

How Does This Fit with the Mandaean Traditions?

"What a Tangled Web We Weave When We Practice to Deceive."

We've already alluded to internal problems in the existing canonical Bible, but now we'll look at more of these in more detail, first with examples from the "original" Greek texts, then with examples from the "original" Aramaic texts. This material puts the final nail in the coffin of any arguments for the validity of the exoteric canonical gospels.
