Autumn Falls Valley

Seasons pass. Time changes things. Snow weathers the ground. The trees fall and grow. Lives die, becoming legends in the wind.

In a place, far from inhumanity, away from the dangers that humans have brought to the world, a gray misting fog covers the land, rolling through the hill, covering the dark sky and capturing the creatures within as shadows.
In this place, the shadows begin to move…Shapes begin to form...From deep within the valley, the soft pad of a set of wolves is heard, echoing off the rolling walls of fog.

Above the falls a pair is found. They stand tall, their eyes curious at the new intrusion to their home. And though they are young, they are yet old as the valley itself.

One, a female, is of exquisite silver, her eyes a piercing gold. Her fur seems to shimmer slightly as the fog thins and the moonlight shines forth, bathing them in the soft, silver light. The second, slightly larger, is of deep coal grey and also an underbelly and legs of flawless cream, as his grandfather once was. His fur shines with a shadowed sheen, his muscles taught as he watches. Both of them have piercing amber eyes, ones that have a feral look. They stand there, looking out over the falls, their aura sending others into hiding.

Then she howled, her howl starting low. His, a deeper sound, started and entwined, until she raced up the scale, hitting the highest note, and then their enchanting duet fades away into the tranquil obscurity. The fog rolled in, the gray mist closing in over them, leaving them as watchful shadows, and then even the shadows disappeared.

The return is so bittersweet.

I've cleared all the boards except for the territory boards. I'm also leaving the members list the way it is until new people start joining.

"We have doomed the wolf not for what it is, but for what we deliberately and mistakenly percieve it to be-the mythologized epitome of a savage, ruthless killer-which is, in reality, no more than the reflected image of ourself."
