Dishin it Out
Diet. A horrible word to hear...its DIE with a t on the end to make it look pretty right? Bad news girls, its not.
A diet in any context is just what you eat on a daily basis. Unfortunately the word has gotten a bad rap for the past few years due to the health craze going on. All new diets have sprung up, each one appearing to restrict us from eating what we love the most, which is of course the junk food. And believe it or not its not all about cutting out fat. Your body needs fat to function, so a totally fat free diet is not recommended. A low fat diet is more acceptable. The key is remembering that calories, not fat, are what make you gain weight. When you take in more calories then you burn your body stores them; then you can't fit into that little black dress like you used to. Cut calories, cut pounds, and get back in the dress.
If I could I would live off of pizza, chocolate, popcorn, and soda for the rest of my life. My thighs beg to differ though. But when I went about designing my eating plan, I wanted to lose weight and still be able to eat my favorite foods. With enough online research, a few trips to the local library and a little patience I was able to design one that suited my tastes. Here it is:
daily calorie intake: 1300
special allowances: one day a week, eat whatever I choose regardless of calories
restrictions on food type: none
Sinple huh? No one said a diet had to be complex. Or that you had to deprive yourself. Everyone knows that if you forbid yourself something you want it all the more right? Its a rule teenagers seem to know my heart. So indulge yourself every now and then, whether it be pizza, chinese, or my personal favorite chocolate. You work hard so you deserve a little indulgence.
The key to a healthy eating plan is finding one that works for you. I did months of research and several rounds of yo yo dieting before coming up with the exact calorie count I now use. I encourage you to do the same. The best place to go? Ediets is the best online diet center to date with supportive staff and plans that you can more than live with.
So live a little...indulge yourself every now and then. Now where did I put that chocolate cream pie?
