Tell us about your recent successes in the American Cup and ITC? Are you becoming more confident as a senior elite now you are starting to be recognised the world over?
Recent successes.... American Cup making it into the finals was awesome especially competing against such a world class field........ ITC Challenge was a bad competition for me, but I felt I gained some valuable experience. I am becoming a lot more confident.

Is it beneficial to have such strong competition in your own gym to help increase your confidence for big international meets?
Yes...... well together as a team we improve so I am not sure if I would be doing as well without the other girls . We all support each other and are very close.

What do you think has been Peggy Liddick's greatest contribution to Australian gymnastics in the short time she has been here?
Peggy has given us a lot more opportunities to compete overseas. She has so much knowledge and experience with gymnastics. She knows what each gymnast need to be successful.

Will we be seeing any new skills in your repertoire in the coming months?
Not really. I'm basically competing my old routines but hopefully I will add a double layout on floor by the end of the year and a second release on bars (Tkatchev) early next year.

What are your feelings on this years Senior Nationals? Are you pleased with your results? Did you match/exceed you expectations heading into the championships?
My goal for nationals was to place in the top 3 so coming 2nd was kind of a plan set by my coaches & myself.

Was it hard to come up for Nationals after travelling to America in the weeks preceeding the championships?
Yes it was really hard, I missed a lot of routine numbers in my preparation… also the day I arrived back from America I had to go into the gym and train so I had no chance to get over jet lag, it was straight into it and then to nationals.

Peggy Liddick has been quoted as calling you the new breed of Australian gymnast. Does this add pressure or are you happy to carry that label?
Well I am happy to carry this label as it's taken me so long to get where I am… it's actually nice to see that she notices that.

Gymnast you most admire and why?
Lisa Moro… I used to share a room with Lisa and she amazed me with her determination and willpower to succeed. It's such a shame that she couldn't go all the way.

Most memorable overseas trip? Why?
Australia v France (1999)..... [New Caledonia] because it was such a beautiful place..... we all had such a great time and obviously winning the competition was a highlight.

What do you see yourself doing after gymnastics?
Go back to Queensland, go surfing.......... and become a beach bum.

With your name becoming known amongst not only Australian but also World gymnastics circles is there anything you would like to say to all you new fans out there?
Thank you for all your support. I really appreciate it…. Please try to spread the word about gymnastics so that other people can appreciate the sport.
