So many things added up to this decision - that once again we hit the road travelling round Australia, just this time there is no time limit - we left at the beginning of April 2005 with no set plans, no time limits, no particular roads to travel, just take each day as it comes, and see where the wind takes us!
Isn't the house above a beauty? I found it as I was wandering around Mackay. It is in remarkable condition and is a great example of a Queenslander-style home built to suit the warm weather in sunny Queensland. There are shaded verandahs with plenty of open areas for the breezes to flow through. In this one the downstairs area has been built in, but many of these homes are built on shorter stumps - again for air to circulate.
