Abstract

Military Academy of Malaysia (MAM) is a special academy where students or SISKA (undergraduate cadets) receive academic and military training simultaneously. Looking at the academic achievement each semester, it is only reasonable for the management at MAM to consider some learning solutions to help SISKA. One of the possibilities is perhaps by implementing e-learning; the concept whereby the educational process is brought anywhere that the students choose to be. However, before MAM can proceed with e-learning adoption, a lot of aspects must be considered carefully. This conceptual paper attempts to discuss two things:- firstly, to identify the need for e-learning at MAM and secondly, to identify the pedagogical issues involved in e-learning. The method used in this paper is text analysis. Major findings show that as a military academy, some pedagogical issues must be dealt with carefully so that not only SISKA but also the academy will benefit from e-learning. This paper hopes to present the pedagogical issues for consideration before MAM plans to adopt e-learning for the process of teaching and learning.
