ATHEY BARRIER
CONSTRUCTIONS INCORPORATED, was formed in June 1986, with capitalization based upon the
patent and investments by the principals. Subsequent investment by family members and
friends has been through modest private stock sale placements. Additional funding will be
welcomed, through private sales of stock ($1 a share in blocks of 1000 shares minimum) to
qualified investors.
The principals, Robert D. Athey Jr. and Patricia A. Shaw, are respected
scientists, innovators and practical technologists. Both have been active in the technical
communities of the American Society for Testing Materials, and the Federation of Societies
for Coatings Technology (both having won presentation awards at national meetings of the
latter). Both have technical publications in respected refereed technical journals, and Dr
Athey has been a columnist/reviewer for several, as well. Dr. Athey is the President of
the firm, while Ms. Shaw is the Secretary/Treasurer.
