Okay guys, this isn't cool. If you like my poetry, I don't mind if you put it on your web site, but I have noticed a lot of my work circling around the 'net by people that not only failed to recognize it as my work, but claimed it as their own (coughsputter http://www.angelfire.com/poetry/r_greig/ cough). Just to let you know, poetry is automatically copyrighted from the moment you type or write it. I wrote a lot of that poetry in middle school, so I do have a copy of all of it in my Middle School's archives due to the fact that they found me a threat and copied it all. While I didn't like that at the time, at least it is proof that this work is mine. But even if I didn't proof, it's pretty rude to use my work without giving me credit. Something about stealing my work makes me feel that people are somehow stealing my soul for their own self-importance. So actually, it's kind of sad. I'm going to put a list of sites below that have used my work without giving me credit, and if you see your site on this list and want it removed, put my name (Jessikah) and web site address next to what you have posted and I will gladly remove your link from this list. Also, if you know of any others, let me know! :) I have also tried to contact all these people but either got a failure of email or no response.
This guy had the nerve to give himself a copyright for my work!!! And I can't email him, as I get an email failure when I try... So I finally found my backup cd with all of my web page documents (let this be a lesson - always save your files! Reformatting does happen!) ... I'm in college now, so time to format pages and add new poetry is scarce, but here is a little something I wrote this year while experimenting with Spanish (one of my majors), as well as while listening to an Alice Cooper song:
Soy veneno I'm also thinking of one day editing my old poetry, but what do you think? It may be unrefined, but it was also straight from the heart of those times when I was in the depths of my mental pain, though my literary skills were not as they are now. What do you think? Feel free to email me with suggestions. That will also help me figure out whether or not people still look at this darn thing anymore, especially since geoshitties shut it down for quite some time!
