THE GARDEN

Have you ever sat in a garden seat
At the close of an harassing day
And breathed in the different fragrances
Of lavender, rose and honeysuckle sweet.

It is like a breath from heaven above,
Each sweet breath refreshing our souls
And feeling of the healing power that
In a garden grows, if planted with love.

Have you ever cast your eyes around
At the flowers that grow each year,
To fill our lives with such beauty
That our gratitude to God should abound.

I am pleased I have a garden, even if its small
To grow some pretty flowers in, even a weed or two
For they are God's creations, and wonderful to see,
From the little daisy to the hollyhocks so tall.

So try to find time to sit on a garden seat
And stop and smell the roses, with their fragrance sweet.
Stop and watch the squirrels running up the trees,
Even grow a few tomatoes which are so good to eat.
