        STAR-BRIGHT
I saw a star shine so bright in the east,
Twas around the time of the Easter feast,
It’s radiance dimmed other stars around,
Such nightly beauty was very rarely found.

It set my mind to that time so long ago
When a star showed kings the way to go
To the newborn king, here to save mankind
I wonder if the star-bright shined in each mind?

Star so bright that shone with pure, clear light,
Glow in my heart, like it did on Christmas night,
When angels sang, voices rending the sweet night air,
Bringing all a joyous message beyond compare.

The long awaited time had come that lovely night,
With angels rejoicing and a star burning so bright,
Yet very few recognized that special great event
When God above to this earth He willingly sent.

We know of the truth of why that bright star shone,
It was the start of a great battle that had to be won,
The baby born in a stable so lowly cold and bare,
Was the Son of God, our Redeemer who lay humbly there.
