More poems about the birth of the Saviour

        CHRISTMAS LOVE
I love the Christmas story in the Bible found,
The shepherds heard the angels melodic sound
And then went in haste to the manger where lay
The dear Saviour of us all, asleep on some hay.

A brand new baby born and heavens angels sang
And the rafters of the skies with pure joy rang,
A time foretold since Adam that He would come
For the coming of the Messiah a battle to be won.

The wise men came with precious gifts from afar,
Guided, not by angels, but by a single bright star,
We know they went to the castle to find the king,
Then they found later a really wonderful thing,

The child in a humble home, a carpenter’s son,
They saw Him, they knew their journey was done,
The gifts of gold, sweet frankincense and myrrh,
Gifts of true Godhood each one did quietly refer.

The Word was made flesh, John’s words so profound,
In those words the loving Christmas message is found,
All the fuss and excitement as simple stories are told,
A baby born, one day to lead us all back to His fold.

I love Christmas even if there were no gifts under the tree,
As long I can hear and tell the story of the holy nativity,
Hear the carols and anthems loudly and yet sweetly proclaim,
“This is the day we celebrate and tell why He so humbly came.

Happy and holy Christmas to those I love, may He be with you,
Feel Him always close beside you all your life through,
Have a star to lead you and pray you may hear angels sing
And know of the joy of Christmas and the hope it brings.
