SONNET 79 - THAT EASTER MORN
That first Easter morning so long ago
Brought with it the hope of heaven so bright,
Jesus had won, He had fought the great fight,
Oh, how our gratitude to Him should flow.
We sing Alleluia, each heart show glow
And every soul worship with all their might,
For Christ has overcome death to give us light,
Now no fear of death should we ever know
As through this mortal life we all do go,
For death is conquered, so now all is right
If we follow the master, our pure light,
So we thank thee Master and love thee so.
So shout hosanna to His holy name,
Because of Him well never be the same.
