Have I Done Any Good?

What good would God have me do today?
That single thought passed through my mind
As I awoke to face the day and knelt to pray,
Point me where I’m needed Lord, help me be kind.

I rushed around being so busy I could not see
The hand of a friend who needed help and care,
I was too busy looking to see he needed me,
If I’d have taken a second, for I was there.

The temple stood half empty. Me? Too busy to go,
Too tired to fight the traffic, others can do the work.
But its me who prayed what would God have me do?
Asked to be shown the way, why should I shirk?

Was Jesus too busy to heal the sick or feed the poor?
When He was tired, did He send the children away?
Would He ever turn a beggar away from His door?
Or be too busy working or cleaning all through the day.

No! He would be in tune to the need of a friend,
He would stop what he was doing and always help out,
So when we pray for guidance, follow it through to the end,
And do all that is required of us, without any doubt.
