GOD TOUCHED MY HEART
I saw the mighty maples standing bright red
In a sea of shimmering, vivid green,
Rich yellow poplar trees, upward spread,
Darkest green pines could also be seen.
The breeze wafted the grass, rustled the leaves,
No clouds marred the vivid blue sky.
In the distance, a field of golden sheaves
Ready for the barns, to be put safely by.
What could improve this special moment?
Then the sun turned from gold to red,
It felt to me for a moment like the great advent
Of the millennial day, yet I knew no dread.
The sun sank in a magnificent blaze of glory,
I was fixed to the spot not wanting to move,
For now I could paint a picture, tell a story,
And I need not to any a living God prove
He came down that moment, touched my heart,
Gave me a great gift to remember all my days,
He gave me a beautiful world and if I do my part,
Always think of Him, as I see the sun’s setting rays.
