SONNET NO:23 CANDLE OF MY SOUL

I will keep a candle lit on the altar of my soul,
To light my way through the darkened weary days
That beset us as we travel along our different ways.
This candle cannot be extinguished by the hand of man,
But only by my own disobedience to our Father’s plan.
I will try to keep it bright and shining through all my days
So I can bask in it’s light and feel the warming of it’s rays.
As years go by and I strive to be worthy of our God’s trust,
The candle should burn brighter, In fact it really must,
Or I will be found lacking in my quest for heaven’s light.
If I do not keep the candle of my soul burning really bright.
There is no special thing to do to have your candle there,
So if you look deep into the caverns of my eternal soul,
You will see that candle burning till I reach my final goal.
