A CHOICE ANGEL.
She was just sixteen and truly fair,
With shining radiant golden hair,
Her eyes shone with a pure light,
She made the world around her bright.
Everyone loved her gentle ways,
She smiled brighter on dismal days.
She never yelled or lost her temper,
It seemed that Satan couldn’t tempt her.
Walking to school with joyful gait,
She was hit by a truck who couldn’t wait
For the traffic light to turn to green,
And death lay, where pure life had been.
She met the Saviour face to face,
Saw the wonder of His perfect grace,
She listened to His message sweet,
As so very gently He did greet.
“I have a special call for you,
One that no one else could do.
We need a guardian angel fair
To guide your family down there.
They have the Holy Ghost to guide,
But sometimes they want to run and hide,
Seek them out, show them the way
That you have trod day by day.
Be their guide, dear angel in the night,
Help them find the perfect light,
Hold their hands when they are sad
Fill each heart with joy, make them glad.
For they are your celestial family
And all of them want to be with me,
Show them the path to follow child
For you are perfect, kind and mild.”
She looked deep into His kind eyes
And saw Him as gentle and wise,
Accepting the challenge with grace,
Was blessed with a smile on His face.
She saw her young sister going astray,
She spoke words, knowing what to say,
They were so quiet only she could hear,
Then she felt the Holy Spirit draw near.
She saw her parents cry on her birthday,
She quietly wiped all their tears away,
She put happy thoughts into each heart,
Healing hurts, she was doing her little part.
Brothers fighting! She threw them a kiss,
Then they hugged in some kind of bliss,
‘It’s as though Beth were near brother’
Whispered one quietly to the other.
And so she went on day after day,
Helping keep sorrow and Satan away.
A choice Angel of light guiding them home,
She will be with them where’er they roam.
