JOSHUA’S COURAGE
Joshua 1:9
The Lord commanded Joshua not to fear
Nor to be dismayed for the Lord was near,
Told him to have courage, be strong and true
And God would be with him all life through,
Wherever you go the Lord promised He’d be there
Staying close beside them hearing their every prayer,
Leading them at last onward to the promised land,
Guide them through their enemies safely by the hand.
Can we be like Joshua, be strong and never ever afraid,
For we know the Lord is there to always give us aid,
There beside us as we strive and struggle to overcome all,
Knowing however dark the path He will hear our call.
Show no fear when asked to do things, strength to carry on,
Never be dismayed when there are many tasks to be done.
To be of good courage when all around you are full of fear,
For you can hold your head high knowing God is near.
Strive hard to shun away dismay and fear, courage show,
Walk in the paths of righteousness, for we do know
That the Lord is our shepherd, our strength and stay,
As the road to heaven He shows us the true way.
