READING THE SCRIPTURES.
A good thing every morning at the start of a new day
Is to find time to read the scriptures as well as to pray,
It shows that we love the Lord, want to do His will,
We’ll cope better no matter what comes, good or ill.

There’ll be answers to problems, also comes that way
Is the answer to many a prayer that will cheer your day,
We’ll come to love and know the Master, feel of His love
And know of all the blessings waiting in heaven above.

The day nearly always goes better if you start out right,
The path will seem easier, there will be a shining light
To guide your every action, words of peace will flow,
And you will shine much brighter everywhere you go.

Spend time every morning, or at the close of the day,
Study well each word, feel His grace come your way,
Even at lunch time or after the main evening meal,
Study the scriptures and let your heart and soul heal.

I have found a difference if a little time I do spend
Reading the scriptures then on the Lord I can depend,
For if we do our part, however small that part may be,
He will surely bless us now and on through eternity.
