PSALM IN PRAISE OF LIGHT
Lost, I wandered in the midst of darkness
Mists hid the paths that I should tread,
Clouds covered the moon by night,
And fog barred the bright sun by day.
Then, Oh Lord, Thy light did shine upon me,
Thy countenance was as bright as the sun,
The fog was gone and the truth I could see,
I knew through light the way I should go.
I praise Thy Holy name when I awake and arise,
When I go to rest I glorify they precious name,
For I was blinded by the craftiness of men,
My eyes were dimmed by all the worldly things.
But now I can see the light for I have found truth,
And the truth and light is my guiding, shining star.
Thou art my candle that glows brightly in the night,
My beacon from the lighthouse to guide me home.
May my voice sing praises to Thee forever,
My heart sing everlasting anthems to Thy name,
May my lips ever tell of Thy goodness and light,
Oh, my Lord, My Saviour and everlasting friend.
