BE A BETTER PERSON
If I want to be a better person in some way,
There’ll need to be construction done today
To build a better me, yet I realized there’s more,
There needs some excavation to remove each flaw.

Dig out all the evil, dig out all envy, hate and sin,
Before I can build a life for to let the Saviour in,
Then the foundation of that better me will obey
As I strive to excavate all ill’s along life’s way.

I want to be a better person, improve every day,
Show I am a true Christian by what I do and say,
Let my light shine with a warn and gentle glow,
And radiate the love of God everywhere I go.

So I’ll excavate and build to make a better me,
It may take all my life and then on to eternity,
But as long as I’m trying to improve each day,
I know He will help me along life’s thorny way.
