WHEN THINGS GO WRONG
When things go really wrong, the world all upside down,
It’s good to keep on smiling, do not wear a sad frown,
For not one person on the earth, whatever they may say
Is ever alone, He is there beside you every step of the way.

I saw a man begging, he looked hungry, yet hope had he,
You could see it in his eyes, then something I did see,
A button on his collar that said, God loves even me.
Dire straights were his, yet his heart was quite free.

I pray that I will have the strength when all goes wrong
To have a cheerful heart, be able to lift my voice in song,
For I never am alone, in fact I know He is so much nearer
When through trials I go, I hear comforting words clearer,

I hope I’d have the faith, if it came to living on the street,
To wear a smile and a button to show to all those I meet
That whatever happens my God knows and loves even me,
And If I stay worthy I’ll be with my God through eternity.
