SEARCHING
As I search my heart, what do I find?
It is Christlike, am I good and kind?
Does my heart beat with God’s pure love?
Is it longing for a celestial home up above?

As I search my mind, what thoughts are there?
Are my thoughts always honest and full of care?
Is my mind steadfast on things that are right?
Is my inner light shining ever clear and bright?

What of this human frame? This body of mine,
Is it in the service of others, doing quite fine
In following God’s will every moment I live?
Wanting to work hard to others freely give?

I wish my deep search would always show
That heavenward is where I wish always to go,
But I need to repent and try to set myself aright
And press ever onward to the truth and the light.
