Psalm of a Nature Lover
Let all the trees their praises sing in gentle harmony
And the sound of the rustling leaves be a prayer unto thee.
The roaring of the mighty seas praise thy name forever
And the brooklet’s song make a joyful sound of love.
The flowers lift their sweet heads in honour of thee
And their fragrance be like a prayer unto thy throne.
The whispering grasses give thee everlasting thanks
And the crops of the fields praise thy holy name.
May the songs of the birds be a tribute from each tiny heart
To thee, O God of love, creator of all creatures great and small.
The voice of the lion and the bear join together in prayer
And the lamb and the foal bleat their praise unto thee.
Let the whole earth rejoice and the heavens shout aloud
In thundering and lightening and clouds burst with rejoicing.
Let the mountains lift up their heads and shout for pure joy
And the valleys cry in never ending songs of gratitude.
For thou art our god and the creator of all things
And all living things should constantly praise thy holy name.
