SING ME A SONG
I love to hear a choir sing, songs so rich and fair.
I love to hear their voices blend across the sweet air,
The angelic sounds soothe and bring sweet repose
To my wilting weary heart, like a lovely summer rose.

Sing me a song of the seas, a funny shanty or two,
That I may clap my hands in fun and tap a restless shoe.
Sing me a song of sailors returning home safe and sound,
Finding their feet once again on firm and solid ground.

Sing me a song about nature, of delicate flowers that grow
In the wooded forests and the meadows where children go.
Sing me a song of the birds that sing in my old apple tree,
Then sing me a tale of a caged bird who at last is set free.

Sing me a song about lovers, walking down a blossomed lane
Holding hands and smiling, knowing they’ll never part again.
Sing me a song of their children as they grow and run and play
Let me hear their laughter, let me know how they live day by day.

Sing me a song about heaven, sing me songs of God’s love,
For those are the ones that help me most get to Him above.
Sing me a song of the Master as He stills the raging of the sea.
Let me know what it’s like in heaven, that’s where I want to be
