        THOUGHTS FLOOD MY HEAD
Sometimes thoughts flood into my head like a great tidal wave,
Sweeping over me, they for me are new ideas I have to save,
Thoughts placed away in chaos somewhere in my busy head.
Then a poem is born from these seeds as a phrase may be said.

Or like a tornado of some unseen, immense and powerful source,
Fills my mind again renewed once more and in its course
Throws my way imagination of many things that may be,
Or of things past that hurry with great haste out of me.

Then, if a typhoon causes water spouts to spray forth from me,
As if ideas and thoughts inside me want to be set quite free,
Bringing up from the depth of my heart and my very being
All the things I want to say, all the emotions I am feeling.

As yet a hurricane of ideas has not come my way,
I am not sure if I’m looking forward to that day,
The Lord has blessed me with an extraordinary active mind,
But to be hit with a hurricane of ideas would be too kind.
