AS MY HEART BEATS
As my heart beats so the poetry flows free,
It has now become an integral part of me,
Blessed by a dear loving Father above
With this gift that helps me spread His love.
The gift of seeing beauty in all the simple things,
And the sweet joy to me these sights do bring,
To put into words that seem to flow soft and deep
As thoughts of loveliness into my active mind do creep .
The morbid mists of morning that heralds a new day,
For a mist can embrace the sun as it comes our way
As an ethereal sight to see, if you will stop and gaze
At the sky in the city, see through the shimmering haze.
Building are seen through glittering, fine gossamer,
This maybe the most lovely part of the day by far.
Slowly the veil is lifted and the sun shines through,
Wafting away the mist showing a sky of blue.
There is no such thing as ugliness seen in a poets eyes,
Even in deprivation they usually find some hidden prize,
A delicate flower seen growing in a crumbled ruin,
The sound of a birds sweet song in wars hellish din.
I am sure that in every heart there is some poetry,
Try and take up a pen and let the words flow free,
Capture the picture that you see and feel in your heart,
Write even a sentence then imagination will do its part.
