WRITTEN WORDS
We poets who sit and quietly write,
I hope we choose our words aright,
Words that may comfort one in need,
Or a message given to take heed.
A tale to bring a smile to a sad face
Lines that will fill a soul with grace,
A phrase that might heal some pain,
Even helping someone feel well again.
Some soothing words to calm a breast
Heavy from toil, needs some gentle rest,
Soft words that flow like healing balm
That frees a wondering soul from all harm.
We may never know, what good can come
When a little poem is finished and all done,
A right word read that did the right thing,
So that even heavens angels my sweetly sing.
