MAGIC MEDIA
Some paintings can stir the soul and please the eye,
You can be swept away as you see a sailing ship go by,
Or wander through a leafy glade of trees and flowers,
Or even turn up your collar against cold harsh showers.
The artist has captured a certain scene for you to relax in,
So that your rightful praises and true admiration win.
Books, stories or poems written by authors old and new,
Can, by a phrase send sweet inspiration through to you,
A line of poetry, a passage in a book that is so sweet
You find a new and better meaning to life, and meet
At last an answer to a long unanswered pleading prayer
Thank-you brilliant author, for those words being there,
But to me the media thats most magic, that makes me live,
Is the sound of music and the intensity that each note can give,
All things mentioned brings a sweet tear of emotion to the eye,
Carry you through hard times, strength to hold your head high,
But music can stir within emotions that are so deep and strong
They bind you with the composer, to him you feel you belong.
I can feel Beethovens frustrations, his great intensity,
Know of Mozarts dexterity and his love of frivolity,
Both Haydens and Handels love of God and of life
Feeling in Von Weber a life free from trouble and strife,
Others I feel I know by the chords that come from their heart
And so I come to know and love their music, at least in part.
A painter can hide his pain and paint something bright,
An author finds it harder to conceal themselves as they write,
But a composer at least to me exposes his heart and mind
So music is the most magical media that you can ever find.
