WAITING FOR INSPIRATION
Sitting with fingers poised, wondering what to write,
Waiting for some inspiration to come and take a bite
At my sagging imagination to give me a bright idea,
Send some thoughts my way, but nothing yet, I fear.
I have written many poems, thoughts come to my head,
Sometimes they wake me when I lie fast asleep in bed,
Words spill from my mind, so that it is hard to sleep,
But just at the moment nothing from my mind does seep.
Shall I write about the bright blue spring sky above?
Or of the returning birds that sing aloud with love?
Or my seeing the first flowers show their heads again?
Or write about the falling of springs refreshing rain?
I want to write about something that is deep within my heart,
It is more than love or appreciation, it is such a big part
Of me, I dont think Ill ever stop writing you see,
Till I tell of the pure joy of living that always comes to me.
For I have been blessed by the Lord in so many ways
Gratitude will never stop flowing throughout my days,
And I feel Ill keep on writing in all the worlds to come,
For I know the blessing from the Lord will never be done.
