NEW MOON
The new moon entered a troubled storm tossed sky,
She seemed to have to struggle hard just to get by
Each heavy cloud of moisture, so very big and strong,
It was not with great ease she sailed so silently along.
A tiny sliver of light and a vague shape of the full moon
Weaving her way, it seemed, as if seeking some boon,
Begging that at least to be seen a little on her first night,
Hoping that she may give some joy also a little light.
Here comes an open space in those cumbersome clouds,
Clear is her way, see her without those heavy shrouds
Of grey, so her gentle grace and beauty we now can see,
But not for long on this night, not long will she be free.
But whether there is clear sailing or clouds bar the way,
On her allotted cause she bravely does always stay,
A message for the world to heed our lives through,
Through both clouds and clear skies always stay true.
